
Joseph Bonner, PhD Candidate 2024, Exercise Physiology
Mr. Bonner is a cardiometabolic researcher promoting healthy behaviors to mitigate chronic disease risk. His focuses on exercise physiology, nutrition, and obesity prevention in pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations. He has presented multiple abstracts in these areas, most recently at The Obesity Society’s Week Conference in 2023: “Anthropometric Predictors of Vascular Risk in a Multiracial Sample of Pre-Menopausal Women” and “The Effect of a Pilot Nutrition and Kinesiology Curriculum for Middle School Adolescents.” Mr. Bonner administered a pediatric health program for more than 200 adolescents. He also regularly conducts body composition, metabolic, and aerobic performance testing. The subject of his doctoral dissertation is “Anthropometric and Physical Fitness as Predictors of Vascular Markers of Cardiac Risk Within Young Adults.” Mr. Bonner’s additional degrees are MS in Nutrition for Health and Human Performance and BS in Exercise Physiology.
