Senior Strides Group Program

Be brave. Whether you are retired or still working, you want to enjoy your golden years in the best health possible. Here’s one wrinkle: human metabolism remains stable during most of our adult years but slows down after the age of 60. While the threshold age for Medicare benefits is 65, senior populations are straining current healthcare systems as the risk of type-2 diabetes increases. Half the population older than 65 have pre-diabetes, and 25 percent have diabetes. If you are under a doctor’s care for metabolic syndrome or other conditions, we can work with you and your doctor to enhance lifestyle goals and provide accountability. It’s never too late to take responsibility for your health and make important strides in weight transformation and fitness.

Adult Downscale Group Program | Home | Weighting4You

Adult Downscale Group Program

Be curious. It’s not your fault if your weight is not optimal. Many factors, including stress, sleep, food choice, and fitness impact metabolic health. Recent research estimates that 40 percent of young American adults have insulin resistance and cardiovascular risk factors. This is a wake-up call: Know your risk. If you have been upscale, downscale, and upscale again, you may have insulin resistance, which can lead to diabetes and cardiovascular inflammation. Our adult programs are designed for clients aged 20-59, especially yo-yo dieters who want to stop the rollercoaster of gain-loss-regain, achieve stability and reach maintenance. We will work with you to explore the root causes of obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation.

Bariatric Community Program

Be Determined. If you are carrying more than 100 pounds of excess body weight, you are considered to have Class III Obesity (morbid obesity), increasing your risk of serious medical conditions and a shorter life expectancy. It is a daunting and often overwhelming undertaking to reduce this much weight. If you are contemplating bariatric surgery for weight transformation, there are steps you will need to take to prepare. Surgery will be one milestone in your journey. After surgery, and during your physical recovery, you will need structured support to stay motivated as you progress toward your weight goal and maintain success. We offer coaching support at all stages of your bariatric journey.

Educational Programs for Schools and Coaching for Adolescents, Children, and Their Families

Coming Soon

Adolescent and pediatric obesity are a major public health concern in the United States where approximately 1 in 5 children and adolescents are overweight. Obesity has increased for children and youth from 2-19 years of age in all races and ethnicities.

According to the CDC, factors that contribute to excess weight gain include behavior, genetics, and certain medications. Environmental settings are contributory, but they also provide an opportunity to address health and wellness in early childhood care outside the home, school settings, and  activity-friendly neighborhoods. Families need access to healthy, affordable foods and safe places for physical activity to make healthy choices. To request further information email: [email protected]

Adolescent and Pediatric Obesity Prevention Program | Home | Weighting4You

Adolescent and Pediatric Obesity Prevention Program

The American Academy of Pediatrics, in their first clinical guidelines published in January 2023, stated that the current and long-term health of 14.4 million children and adolescents is affected by obesity, making it one of the most common pediatric chronic diseases.  Obese adolescents and children confront weight bias and stigma as well as victimization and bullying. They may also have suffered adverse childhood experiences (ACE), negative events such as the loss of a parent, divorce, abuse, or other trauma, leading to chronic stress and negative health behaviors that are linked to obesity.

Coaching for adolescents or children with parents can be scheduled with a pediatrician’s approval and guidance in a 6-month weekly or 12-month biweekly (26 meetings) package, using motivational interviewing to address and support behavior change for weight reduction and health promotion. Why Weight?

Join us on a journey to metabolic health.

We don’t have time to lose. While weight loss is often raised as a primary health goal, obesity itself is defined as a multifactorial disease. Fixing the problem isn’t just about reducing numbers on a scale, it’s about getting to the root causes of the problem itself. That’s why we focus on weight transformation and the broader goal of metabolic health.
